A background on coffee history up through the present to put coffee in context, demystify marketing jargon, and make selecting coffee to purchase less intimidating and more likely to be enjoyed.

• Covering extraction in general and how it applies to espresso.
• How machines and grinders work, how to troubleshoot and maintain them.
• Ample time for learning to dial in, pulling shots, and building good habits.
• A conversation about tools and gadgets.

Students will leave with the information necessary to build on and develop their skills and make empowered purchasing decisions to suit their needs and preferences.

• The basics of dialing in and spending time pulling shots. Taking care of the machine and yourself to insure both continue to function long term.
